 WWII POW-In Honor of Veterans Day - Daniel King of Lordstown was a 1st Lieutenant in the 8th Army Air Corp, which became the United States Air Force after 1947. He flew the P51 Mustang as a fighter pilot. The primary duty of the P51 fighters was to serve as escorts on bombing runs to and from the targets over enemy territory. King states, I flew 29 and one half missions. Due to engine failure, he and his plane went down and he was captured and taken to a German prisoner of war camp. We wish to thank this honored Veteran for his service to our country. Following the presentation will be a brief Friends meeting.
