Summer Reading Club Begins June 2; Noted Author/Illustrator Eileen Christelow Appears June 18 and 19

The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County's Summer Reading Program begins June 2. The whole family will enjoy popular author and illustrator Eileen Christelow, who will appear in special programs at four libraries June 18 and 19.

Summer Reading is family fun, with programs for all ages, from babies to adults. Participants can read for incentives, attend library programs, see popular performers, and more. The children's Summer Reading Club theme is “Catch the Reading Bug.” Summer Reading's TeenXTreme and adult programs are, “Change Your World: Read.” There's also a Baby Brilliant Summer Reading program focusing on early literacy techniques.

“Please ‘Bee' Our Guest As We Welcome Author/Illustrator Eileen Christelow” - Watch Eileen, author of the “Five Little Monkeys” series, draw a story and learn how she creates books kids love to read.
