Foundation Center

The Grant Center at the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center. As a member of this nationwide network of libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit agencies, the Library provides visitors with free public access to grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center’s electronic databases, Foundation Directory Online Professional and Foundation Grants to Individuals Online. The fully searchable databases include detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations, as well as an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation’s top funders.

The Grant Center provides free access to the Foundation Center subscription databases:

Foundation Directory Online Professional: Available only at the Grant Center, this database provides information on over 98,000 foundations, corporate donors and grantmaking public charities and 1.6 million recent grants.
Foundation Grants to Individuals Online: Find funding for your education, art projects, scientific research and more using this online database of almost 8,300 foundations and public charity programs.
