BIC's LACE Quarterly Financial Institution Ratings is a source that provides financial ratings on “commercial banks(8,000), savings banks(500), savings and loans that are federally insured (1,200), bank holding companies (100 largest), and credit unions (1,100 for March and September periods and 12,000 for June and December periods).” LACE Financial Corporation's name is derived “from the four major determinants of financial soundness: Liquidity, Asset Quality, Capital and Earnings.” The ratings for the institutions are assigned by comparing “key financial ratios to peer benchmarks established during ‘normal' periods.” Each quarterly issue of the source not only provides the current rating, but ratings from six prior quarters. |
