We Thank You! May is Military Appreciation Month

National Military Appreciation Month

Our United States military goes back hundreds of years. Men and women have given their lives to keep our country safe. They are always on call, whether it be stateside or helping overseas. It was not until 1999 that Congress declared that May be National Military Appreciation MonthThis ensured that our nation could publicly show appreciation and to honor those who served, past and present.

Each year the president makes a proclamation, reminding everyone of how important our armed forces are to us. This month-long observance encompasses other celebrations as well. We have Memorial Day, Military Spouses Day, Armed Forces Day, Loyalty Day, and VE Day (the end or World War II).

Be sure to thank a military member!
