Foster a Love of Reading
Summer break is here and the library’s Summer Discovery program has begun! And who doesn’t love a good ol’ game of bingo?! This year, I’m choosing to fill my bingo blocks by reading in 15-minute increments. Who’s to say that reading some awesome picture books to my toddler doesn’t count towards that? While reading together, my toddler loves to point out when the characters are reading books, or kids are gathered for storytime. Here’s a collection of our favorite books that give a nod to libraries, books, and help develop and foster that love of reading.
Help Wanted: Must Love Books by Sumner Johnson, Janet
We Are in A Book! by Willems, Mo
Pete the Cat Checks Out the Library by Dean, James
Otter: I Love Books! by Garton, Sam
How Do Dinosaurs Learn to READ? by Yolen, Jane
I’m Not Reading! by Allen, Jonathan
Lola at the Library by McQuinn, Anna
Five Little Monkeys Reading in Bed by Christelow, Eileen
Reading Makes You Feel Good by Parr, Todd
Hooray for Books! by Won, Brian
All of these titles are available through the library, place holds on as many as you’d like and pick them up using our curbside service.
