DIY Dog Toy
Upcycle your old shirts to a machine washable toy for your pooch! We are going to cut strips out of our once loved t-shirts and braid them together for an easy DIY dog toy. Mix and match different colors or keep it all the same!
You will need:
- Old T-shirts (I used 3)
Lay your T-shirt out on a flat surface.
Using the scissors, make a cut about 3 inches up from the bottom. After you make the cut, you can rip the fabric instead of trying to continue to cut in a straight line.
After you have ripped the section off the shirt, make a snip so it is a strip instead of a circle.
Tug on your strip of fabric to lengthen it.
Continue to do this with all the t-shirts until you have as many strips as you desire for your dog toy. The number of strips will depend on how thick you want to make it. Make the three sections you will braid together.
Make a knot at the end of each section.
Cut a small length of fabric that will be used to tie together the 3 sections. You can cut one of the strips in half, for example.
Secure the 3 sections, under the knot, at the top with the small strip of fabric.
When you have your toy as long as you prefer, repeat the knot at the bottom for each of the three sections of fabric.
Repeat with another small strip of fabric, securing all 3 sections together, above the knots.
Trim off excess fabric on both ends.
Playtime! Dogs of all sizes approve!
