February 20 is National Love Your Pet Day!

As we brave the cold dog days of winter, let’s curl up and celebrate our favorite furry, feathered or scaled four-legged creatures! February 20 is National Love Your Pet Day and this list of Library resources can provide some unique tips and tricks to party with our loyal pet companions.

Treat them to a pet spa day! Have them looking (and smelling) their best!

Nothing says “I love you!” quite like homemade treats! You could test out your kitchen skills with The Healthy Homemade Pet Food Cookbook, which has 75 whole food recipes and tasty treats for every age and stage of your pet’s development. Your pet will definitely taste the love that went into their meal! If you have a junior chef in the house, maybe Cool Pet Treats: Easy Recipes for Kids to Bake is the way to go.

A new surprise toy or present could make your pet’s day! And if your pooch wasn’t pampered enough, you could always try a DIY Dog Toy using old t-shirts, or the book DIY for Your Dog, with ideas for toys, treats and treasures to make!
