Replica of Michael Kusalaba Branch Shows What a 3D Printer Can Do

The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County won a 3D model of one of its buildings at a library conference recently. Library Executive Director Aimee Fifarek welcomed CBLH Design at the Michael Kusalaba Branch Library on Mahoning Avenue when they delivered the model. Ms. Fifarek chose the Michael Kusalaba branch for the replica because it houses the Makerspace, which includes a 3D printer, along with other technology in do-it-yourself fashion. Library patrons can use equipment in the Makerspace after taking an orientation program offered at the branch.

Bittinger said CBLH offered the 3D model as a raffle prize because they wanted to use the latest technology to help people realize their projects before they are built. He pointed out that we live in a 3D world, but work on buildings from two-dimensional drawings and viewing a three-dimensional model can provide insight.
