Free At-Home Rapid COVID-19 Tests Now Back in Stock at the Library
Free at-home rapid COVID-19 test kits are now back in stock at The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC). Testing kits are intended for the general public and not for business use.
Patrons must call the Library at 330-744-8636 to reserve a kit, which then will be available for curbside pick-up. Mahoning County residents who are homebound and are qualifying patrons of the Library’s Special Delivery service can also request a test kit to be sent by mail by calling Special Delivery at 330-792-3869, Mon.-Fri. from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and a kit will be mailed to them.
If patrons are ill, experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or have been exposed to someone that is ill or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, they should not come to the library to get a kit. Please send a family member or friend to pick up a kit.
The BinaxNOW rapid at-home tests are easy-to-use antigen tests that detect the virus when people are most infectious. Patrons should take the tests at home, not at the library. Email address, Internet connection, and a device with a webcam such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer are required. Digital health solutions provider eMed™ will deliver results to the user through the NAVICA™ app in 15 minutes. As always, the Library recommends that patrons consult with their physician for personal health questions or assessments.
Supplies are limited. To ensure that there are enough kits for everyone, we ask that patrons only request one kit per member of their household with a limit of five. The Library does not collect any personal information from patrons and only reports the number of test kits distributed.
For more information about the test, call eMed Customer Support: 844-943-0061.
