Library Express Location Opens Monday in Campbell D’Amato Field House
CAMPBELL (September 5, 2017) – A Library Express location will open Monday, September 11, inside the D’Amato Field House, Campbell Memorial High School, on 6th Street. Hours will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Library Express is part of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County (PLYMC) system.
This space is a temporary location for the former Campbell Library, intended to serve the entire community and patrons of all ages. The previous Campbell Library building closed this summer due to the deteriorated condition of the roof and other facility issues.
The Library Express will provide library service through the period of time until the Campbell Schools’ Activity, Recreation and Cultural Center (ARCC) opens. The Campbell Library will move to into a 3,000-square-foot space inside the ARCC when it opens.
The Library Express will include a small collection of popular materials, best sellers and Hot Picks, a small DVD collection, children’s books, young adult books, magazines, the Vindicator, and three public access computers. The area also has comfort seating with tables and chairs. Book and Media drop boxes will be outside the building for easy return of library materials.
“The Library is pleased to have this partnership with the Campbell Schools and appreciates the efforts of Superintendent Mathew Bowen and the Campbell Board of Education to help us bring library service to the community as we await our next home inside the ARCC,” said Library Interim Executive Director Susan Merriman.
