Library Receives $2,000 Grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to Support Summer Literacy

Dollar General Literacy Foundation logoYOUNGSTOWN, OH (May 31, 2016) – The Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County a $2,000 grant to support Summer Discovery, the Library’s summer literacy program for children, teens and adults.  This local grant award is part of over $7.1 million in grants awarded to more than 900 schools, nonprofits and organizations across the 43 states that Dollar General serves.

“We are thankful to Dollar General for their generous support of the Library’s Summer Discovery program,” said Library Executive Director Heidi Daniel.

“Dollar General’s commitment to literacy is apparent in their generous donation to the Library,” said Library Development Director Deborah Liptak. “Our entire community benefits from Dollar General’s support.”
