PLYMC and Youngstown City Health District to Offer Free COVID-19 Vaccines for Children Ages 5+

 

Children over the age of five can receive free COVID-19 vaccinations at two upcoming clinics held by the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) and the Youngstown City Health District as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has approved COVID-19 vaccines for the latest age group. In addition to COVID-19 vaccines for ages 5+, booster shots for those eligible and annual flu shots will be available at the following clinics:  

  • Tuesday, November 9: Main Library | 305 Wick Ave. | 11:30 a.m.-6:15 p.m.  
  • Tuesday, November 23: Newport Library | 3730 Market St. | 11:30 a.m.-6:15 p.m.  

Additional Information for the Clinics:   

  • Walk-ins for COVID-19 vaccinations and flu shots are welcomed, but appointments for a COVID-19 booster shot are required and can be made by visiting the Youngstown City Health District website: https://covid19.youngstownohio.gov/. 
  • For the COVID-19 vaccines requiring a second dose, appointments will be scheduled and provided by the Youngstown City Health District.  
  • Those receiving their first COVID-19 shot, including children, will receive a $100 gift card provided by the Youngstown City Health District and Medicaid. 
  • Please bring a photo ID and proof of insurance if applicable, however, insurance is not required. Flu shots are $25 without proof of insurance. Masks or face coverings are required.
