What’s in the Box?

Make a sensory box! Find a box that is big enough to put objects in and find objects around your home to put in the box.  There are multiple ways to do this activity, but here are two:

  1. Close off the box so that the only opening is for your child’s hand. Let your child feel an object and guess what it is before pulling it out of the box.
  2. Fill the box with material to hide objects in, such as macaroni, rice, shredded paper, dirt, sand, aquarium rocks, or any other similar ideas. Mix objects into the materials for your child to find. Add extra elements such as a matching game when the objects are found.
