Reference service is available at all branches of the Mahoning County public library system. The Information Services Department serves as the resource library for all branches and has the most extensive collection of non-circulating reference materials in the widest variety of formats in the library system. During the Main Renovation, the Business and Investment and the Career and Job centers are located at the Brownlee Woods Library and Genealogy and Local History is at the Struthers Library.

Librarians throughout the library system provide reference service via the phone. Call 330-744-8636 and ask for Reference for librarian assistance or Information Services to reach the Main Library reference desk.

Librarians are on duty at from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
