Nominations for 2026 are open now! Any 2024 or 2025 published book not part of a previous winning series is eligible for the 2026 awards.
Librarians and teachers can collate and submit their students' nominations. The more nominations for a book, the higher its chances to make the ballot for 2026!

About the Buckeye Book Awards
The Buckeye Children’s and Teen Book Awards, opens a new window, established in 1981, is Ohio’s readers’ choice award program for students in grades K-12. It is proudly sponsored by the Ohio Educational Library Media Association, Ohio Council of Teachers of English Language Arts, Ohio Library Council, the Kent State University School of Information (iSchool), the Ohio Literacy Association, and the State Library of Ohio.
The Buckeye Book Awards are a student-chosen reader’s award where students nominate and vote on winners, ensuring it truly reflects preferences of the age group.
