Springfield Library Partners with New Middletown Fire Department for National Fire Prevention Week Activities

YOUNGSTOWN—The Springfield Library is partnering with the New Middletown Fire Department to help spread the word about National Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 3-9.

Join the Library and Fire Department on Saturday, October 8 from 11:00-1:00 PM to learn about the sounds of fire safety. From beeps to chirps, this event aims to help educate the public about the sounds smoke alarms make, what those sounds mean, and how to respond to them.

Stations will be set up for participants to meet the women and men who serve as firefighters and EMS, learn about firefighting, and even sit in a fire truck. Refreshments will be provided while supplies last.
