The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) enters final week of raffle benefiting Summer Discovery

The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) enters the final week of its raffle benefiting Summer Discovery. Since June 4th, raffle tickets have been on sale in person and online with all proceeds benefitting PLYMC’s annual Summer Discovery program, which wraps up another amazing season on July 31st. The two winners will win one of two Louis Vuitton purses, generously donated by Development Committee Chair Alexa Sweeney Blackann.

“Summer Discovery is one of my favorites! It's a great way to support kids and families in our community. Countering the summer backslide is so important and it’s amazing that adults can participate too! I'm delighted the purse raffle is so popular,” said Blackann.

“This program encourages and celebrates the value of reading and learning every day. This summer, participants have logged over 55,000 days of reading to date.” said PLYMC Public Services Manager Pam Prockway. “Additionally, over 13,000 people have participated in Library programs including story times, STEM activities, animal shows, and book clubs.  It is exciting to see our community come together to read and learn throughout the program,” added Brockway
