The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) releases 10-Year Facilities Master Plan

The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) has released its 10-Year Facilities Master Plan containing recommendations for 13 library facilities as well as our Community Engagement Department. Lead by the architectural and design firm Bialosky with additional consultation by Library Strategies, the plan was compiled over a period of roughly eighteen months, using internal and local statistics and data, as well as patron, community, and staff feedback. The recommendations will be analyzed and reviewed by PLYMC Leadership as well as the Board of Trustees.

“This plan gives us a clear, community-informed roadmap for the next decade, so future decisions about our library spaces are thoughtful, strategic, and grounded in how people actually use them,” said PLYMC Director and CEO Aimee Fifarek.
“PLYMC’s strength is our ability to adapt as the county changes while remaining fiscally responsible. This plan takes a countywide view and gives us clear, realistic recommendations to guide future decisions,” said PLYMC Trustee and Building and Sites Committee Chair Ron Strollo.
