Beginning on November 2nd, 2026, The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will begin issuing Educator Library Cards. These specifically designated library cards will support teachers, homeschool educators, and student teachers by providing borrowing privileges tailored to their classroom needs.
“Learning happens in many different places, and the PLYMC is a vital part of that ecosystem, so we want to support the people who make it possible,” said PLYMC Chief Experience Officer Erin Phemester. “Our educator cards connect classroom teachers, student teachers, and homeschool educators with resources to support their work and enrich learning for young people. By investing in educators, we’re investing in students, families, and our entire community.”
