In response to the heat advisory expected early next week, the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) will serve as cooling spaces for community members seeking relief from the heat. Locations with meeting rooms will make those spaces available to those looking to cool off.
During regular library hours, visitors are welcome to enjoy the air-conditioned environment, access to drinking water, and a variety of amenities including reading materials, computer access, and library programs.
We encourage anyone in need of a cool, safe space to stop by and take advantage of these resources.

The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) has served the Mahoning Valley since 1880 when the Youngstown Library Association was officially created. With 14 branches across Mahoning County, including Main Library in downtown Youngstown, PLYMC is well known for its signature services and programs like Summer Discovery and 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. PLYMC serves our communities by preparing children for kindergarten, promoting early literacy, assisting job seekers, connecting Valley residents to technology, and providing resources for small businesses.
