The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) Hosts Ladies in Little Black Dresses for Literacy Fundraiser on June 4

The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC), in partnership with The Library Foundation of Youngstown and Mahoning County, will host its annual Ladies in Little Black Dresses for Literacy fundraiser on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at The Lake Club in Poland, Ohio.

The event brings the community together for an evening supporting PLYMC’s literacy programs and services throughout Mahoning County.

Proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will support PLYMC’s Summer Discovery program. Summer Discovery helps children, teens, and adults continue reading and learning during the summer months while school is out of session through reading challenges, educational activities, and access to library resources.

Each year, over 300 people attend Ladies in Little Black Dresses for Literacy, making it one of the library’s most popular annual fundraising events.

“Ladies in Little Black Dresses is a celebration of the power of women coming together to invest in literacy and the future of our community,” said Mandy Shine, PLYMC Donor Relations Manager.  “Every dollar raised directly supports literacy programs throughout our community and helps open doors for lifelong learning,” added Shina.

The evening will include appetizers, dinner, a glass of wine, raffles, vendors, and a cash bar.

Individual tickets are $70. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Tickets and sponsorships may be purchased online at http://weblink.donorperfect.com/PLYMC2026LLBD

Guests should buy tickets early as the event sells out.
