The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County to host “soft skills” prep workshop on September 16th ahead of Mahoning County Skilled Trades Expo. This free workshop is focused on the “soft skills” needed for people looking to start in the skilled trades. The workshop is free to the public and there is no registration required.
"My father, his brothers and their father were all Ironworkers here in Youngstown, I grew up surrounded by the work ethic that built this city.” said Tim Seman, PLYMC Librarian and organizer of the workshop. "The Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades Expo prep program at the Canfield Library will help participants construct competencies in communication, self-awareness, and adaptability; the soft skills needed before going to the Expo to explore and ask questions of potential new employers and a vital part of the learn-to-earn process." Seman continued.
