Library to Host Election Security Sessions with Local Election Experts

YOUNGSTOWN—As secure elections play a vital role in a free and fair society and are a cornerstone of American democracy, the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) is hosting a series of programs in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown (LWVGY) to help residents learn how elections work in Mahoning County.  

 

The Mahoning County Board of Elections (BOE) will share information on how votes are collected, counted, and secured through the entire voting process and answer questions from participants. The BOE will also host their Board Meeting, which is open to the public, on September 13 at Main Library as well as a Mock Election to further help showcase the entire voting process.

Library patrons can register to vote at library locations. The last day to register to vote in the Ohio primary election is October 11.
