The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) wraps up another amazing Summer Discovery program with Finisher Parties August 5 - 8.

Brownlee Woods: Noon–2 p.m.

Struthers: 12:30–2 p.m.
Springfield: 2–4 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 8
Campbell: 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Main Library: 2–4:30 p.m.
Canfield: 2:30–4 p.m.
Tri-Lakes: 3–4:30 p.m.
Public Service Manager Pam Brockway said “We are excited to celebrate with everyone who spent time reading and learning at the Library this summer! Over 6,000 people registered for Summer Discovery and over 13,000 people attended Library programs during June and July,” Brockway continued “Summer Discovery participants have logged over 85,000 days reading. We expect that number to climb as reading days can still be logged through August 15 at any branch or by phone! We hope to celebrate with many participants at the finisher parties around the county-- and that the reading and learning at the Library continue to be part of their days.”
"This year's Summer Discovery has shown the value that families, programs, and groups have on reading, while using our libraries many resources,” said Ben Corll, the 2026 Chair of the Summer Discovery Committee and Brownlee Woods Supervisor. “Adults are setting an example to the younger generation that reading is important and can be cool and fun but does not have to just be during the summer months but all year round."
