National Library Week 2026: Find Your Joy!

Celebrate National Library Week with PLYMC!

National Library Week is an annual celebration to recognize the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning. From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities.

This year, National Library Week is April 19–25, 2026, with the theme "Find Your Joy" and honorary chair Mychal Threets! "Find Your Joy" invites people of all backgrounds to explore and discover what sparks joy in them at the library.

At The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC), you can:

  • Borrow from a vast collection of physical and digital materials including our Library of Things, a group of non-traditional items.
  • Attend free programs including storytimes, book clubs, cooking classes and more.
  • Access computers and the internet as well as print, copy and fax documents.
  • Reserve a meeting room for your next gathering or a study room for a quiet place to work.
  • Use technology and equipment at select branches including a laser engraver, 3D printer and Cricut.
  • Get expert help from a librarian on various topics such as starting a business or searching for a job.

Whatever brings you joy, PLYMC has something for everyone!
