A Summer Full of Reading Challenges

Summer Discovery is back at PLYMC and readers of all ages are invited to participate! Track the number of days you read for a chance to win a prize book and attend fun library programs along the way. Complete 45 days of reading by July 31 to complete the program.

Registration is required to participate. There are three ways to sign up:

  1. Visit your local PLYMC branch. 
  2. Call us at 330.744.8636. 
  3. Register on ReadSquared through a web browser or download the app for Apple and Android devices. Already have a ReadSquared account? Log in here. If you signed up online for last year's program, please use the same account information to log in.

Receive a tote bag when you sign up! Collect a button from each PLYMC branch to put on your bag. Items available while supplies last.

Summer Reading Program from Barnes & Noble

Kids in grades 1 through 6 can read eight books and record them in a Summer Reading Journal to earn a free book from participating Barnes & Noble stores.

BOOK IT! from Pizza Hut 

Pizza Hut’s long running reading program is designed for children in pre-K through grade 6. Children that meet their parent-set reading goals can earn a free Pizza Hut® single topping Personal Pan Pizza®* from participating locations. 

Summer Reading Challenge from Second Lady Usha Vance 

This nationwide challenge invites students (kindergarten through grade 8) to participate. Participants must read 12 books and track them on the Summer Reading Challenge Reading Log. The log should be submitted online for readers to receive a certificate and prize. 

Summer Reading Adventure from the National Book Foundation 

Complete various activities throughout the summer. Once complete, submit your completed activities for discount codes and prizes. 

Summer Reading Challenge from Reading is Fundamental 

This free, self-paced program encourages kids to read throughout the summer using themed activities, curated book lists, and digital reading badges. The challenge includes activities for early childhood, grades K-2, grades 3-5, and grades 6–8.
