National Nutrition Month® is celebrating a 50th anniversary this March! The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) developed this national community educational outreach in 1973, which has been a yearly success story.
During the month of March, members of the AND are asking everyone to focus on nutrition and their health, learn about making healthy food choices, and develop healthful eating and physical activity habits.
This year's theme, Fuel for the Future, reminds us that eating with sustainability in mind is a tasty way to nourish ourselves during every phase of life and protect the environment.
We encourage you to visit the AND website at www.eatright.org to learn more about nutrition for your health. On this website, you will find featured articles about nutrition and healthful eating habits.
You can also find a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in your area who can help you create healthy habits that are sustainable and meet your unique needs. It’s easy to do! Visit the AND website and select Find a Nutrition Expert. Enter your zip code or city and state. You will receive a list of RDs and RDNs who are certified nutrition experts in your area that you can contact for nutrition education and advice.
You will also find nutrition, fitness, health, and recipe resources and videos on their website at https://www.eatright.org/national-nutrition-month-2023.
There are National Nutrition Month® Weekly Messages for you to learn from, and printable nutritional education materials available at the See Resources link: https://www.eatright.org/national-nutrition-month-2023/resources.
